THR 9 Days: Uganda and Rwanda Gorilla Tracking Safari
Day 1:Aiport Transfer Entebbe
You will be met by our driver/guide at Entebbe International Airport who will drive to Kampala the capital city of Uganda. Check in at Sheraton Hotel/SerenaHotel/ Hotel Africana/Holiday Express Hotel/ Red Chili hideout for low budget, dinner of overnightDay 2: Kampala to Queen Elizabeth National Park
Morning ater breakfast drive southwards stoping at Equator where the the 2 hemispheres cut accross the earth. Take memorable pictures while standing in both hemispheres. After Drive through the park to the part of and decsend in the rift valley that forms big part of Queen Elizabeth National park. Dinner and stay at Mweya Safari lodge/jacana safari lodge or Istitute hostel (FB).Day 3 : Queen Elizabeth National Park
Go for an early morning game drive to seek out wildlife, big five lion, elephant, bufallo, In the afternoon take a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel where the wildlife and a watch many bird species along the channel If time allows then go on an evening game drive. Overnight Mweya safari lodge/ Jacana or Institute Hostel (FB)Day 4: Queen to Bwindi Gorilla National Park
Take an excursion to Kyambura gorge nearby to track the fast moving and elusive chimpanzees, one of man’s closest relations. The chimp population is quite mobile and viewing is unpredictable but the walk is enchanting. Alternatively go for a nature walk in Maramagambo Forest to see other primates and to visit the bat cave and the blue lake. if the road allows pas through Ishasha for climbing lions often seen in fig trees basking in the sun. This part of the park is famous for leopard, hippos in Ishasha river, elephant buffalo and many bird speciesProceed to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park the home of Mountain Gorillas. It is estimated half of the world’s surviving population of mountain gorillas –300 live within Bwindi boundaries. Cross the Equator and continue southwards passing through Ankole grassland, stop for long horned Ankole cattle viewing along the road. . Bwindi National Park is located in the southwestern part of the country at the edges of Kigezi Highlands once known as Switzerland of Africa before the drop of the Western Rift Valley.Dinner and overnight (drive takes minimum of 4 hours)
Day 5 : Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
Early morning breakfast and head for gorilla trekking with guides together with other tourists trackers on this day. The trek is strenuous but enjoyable. This is the major tourist attraction in Bwindi. Carry packed lunch with you have it at a picnic site in the forest. The thrill of your encounter with these gentle giants will erase your difficulties of the potentially strenuous trek. Spend time in awe watching gorillas go about their activities. Each encounter is different and has it’s own rewards. You are likely to enjoy a close view of adults feeding, grooming and resting as the youngsters frolic from vines in a delightfully playful display
Return from tracking gorillas, have dinner and overnight.Day 6 : Bwindi to Lake Bunyonyi
After breakfast take morning visit to the communities following one of the village walks or do nature walk in the forest.Drive to Kabale – lake Bunyonyi located in the center of many hills. Enjoy the good scenery of the area and overnight at Overland Resort.Day 7 : Uganda To Rwanda
Morning take a boat ride on Lake Bunyonyi a seeing plenty of bird life and visiting communities as they go their daily activities. Enjoy this Switzerland of Africa scenery. After lunch drive to Kisoro and cross border to Rwanda. Drive to Ruhengeri overnight at Gorilla Nest Hotel or Kinigi Guest House for budgetDay 8 : Gorilla tracking Park des Volcans
Day for gorilla tracking in Parc National des Volcans (PNV) located in the southern part of Uganda after crossing boarder through Kisoro in the north of Rwanda between volcanic mountain ranges of Muhavura where about over 300 mountain gorillas find their natural habitat. There are four habituated gorilla families – Amahoro, “Group 13”, Sabinyo and Susa – each of the groups allows up to 8 people per day. You can track gorillas,ou will be driven to park headquarters after briefing start off the adventure with trackers. Tracking gorillas may take 5- 8 hours depending on the movements of these primates. Dinner and overnight.Day 9 : Ruhengeri Kigali Airport transfer
Morning drive to Kigali visit some Genocide sites and communities. Carryout city tour visiting the markets and shopping in the city , handicraft shops and the genocide sites. Time permitting, visit the Nyabugogo market, the Moslem quarter in Nyamirambo, the Franco-Rwanda cultural centre and a genocide memorial sites. Can be droped at the Airport or in kigali. We use luxury at request , upmarket ,medium and low cost budget facilities depending on your choice and budget have been used. However in few cases, upmarket facilities may not be available and medium facilities have been used where medium facilities are not available we have used low cost.
