TH-Birding-8-days: Birds of Uganda Trip
(Gorilla tracking is optional in birding safaris, to track you will add gorilla permit fee $500 per person to top on total cost by clients that will be viewing gorillas)

Day 1: Entebbe
On arrival at Entebbe airport, your guide from Travel Hemisphere
will warmly welcome you and later be transferred to Windsor
Lake Victoria Hotel or Sphie's Motel or Flight Motel Entebbe for overnight.
Day 2: Entebbe
Morning bird around shores of lake Victoria,
botanical gardens, shrubs and swamps that support
variety of species and Lutembe Beach. These include: Lesser
jacana ,blue-breasted bee-eater and localized Red Chested
sun bird being common ones.
Others include African Pygmy-goose, Hemerkop, Hadad Ibis,
Crowned-crane, Long-toed Lapwing, Grey parrot Red headed
lovebird, Black headed weaver, Ross's Turaco
Return to your hotel and overnight.
Day 3: Entebbe - Lake Mburo National Park
After breakfast drive to Mpanga Forest carry out birding
in this unique forest and continue to Masaka branching off
to Lake Nabugabo. Look for Herons, Lesser jacana and other
water birds.
Drive to Lake Mburo and overnight at Mantana safari Lodge, Mihingo lodge or Rwonyo Camp.
Day 4: Lake Mburo- Queen Elizabeth National Park
Morning carry out game drive Lake Mburo National Park is
occupied by savannah grassland punctuated with many
lakes surrounded by swamps. This one place you can
view Eland, Antelope, as well as Zebra, Topi, Impala,
and several Acacia -associated birds. The five lakes
within the park attract Hippos and a variety of water
birds, while fringing swamps hide secretive papyrus
specialists such as the Sitatunga Antelope and Red,
Black and Yellow Papyrus Gonalek or take boat ride
on one the lakes looking for species like the Brown
Chested Plover, Red Faced Barbet, Southern Ground
Hornbill, Papyrus Yellow Warbler, Yellow Billed Oxpecker,
African Finfoot, Black Collard Barbet etc. Check out
and drive to Queen Elizabeth National.
Day 5: Queen Elizabeth National Park
Morning game viewing and afternoon boat trip along
the channel on this day will give you wildlife yield
of Hippos huff and spray mere feet away from the boat,
Buffalo linger in the shallows, and a tremendous variety
of birds grace the grasses on the channel's edge.
These may include the Great White and Pink-backed
Pelicans, Great and Long-tailed Cormorants, Open-billed
Stork, African Jacana, Malachite and Pied Kingfishers.
There is also a Bird Observatory here, which was set
up with the aim of studying both migratory and resident
birds. Since its inception in 1997 more new
species have been identified, including Uganda's first
record of the Bar-tailed Godwit. Over night at Mweya
Safari Lodgeor Jacana Safari Lodge or the Institute of Ecology Hostel(BLD)
Day 6: Queen Elizabeth National Park
Morning Natural walk looking for variety of birds or carryout
game drive. After lunch drive to Masaka birding on
the way and overnight.
Day 7: Masaka
- Kampala
After breakfast, you will drive to Kaaku swampand other Ramsa sites in Masaka for the Rufous-bellied Heron, Lesser Jacana, Lesser Moorhen and shoe bill has been sigted here but it is not a guarantee. Continue your
way to Kampala overnight at Serena/ Sheraton/Hotel Africana/Holiday Express or Red chill hideout.
Day 8: Airport Transfer
If time allows you can carry out shopping and before
transfer to the airport for your home bound flight.
Accommodation:
Accommodation available can be grouped as Upmarket,
Medium class and Low budget accommodation facilities.
We have used medium and low cost Budget facilities. LuxuryWILL be provided on request. However in few case, upmarket
facilities have been included in medium packages and where
medium facilities are not available we have used low cost.

Full time experienced birding safari guides with all their associated expenses,
Park entry fees, game drives, boat/ launch trips, forest guiding walks, all activities while on safari and all the applicable Government Taxes.
4x4 wheel drive vehicle with gas and driver/guide
Drinks, your bar bills, phone calls, personal insurance and any other services of a personal nature like laundry etc.
Chimp permits in Kyambura is optional and costs USD30 per person (1 day visit)
