BIRDING SAFARIS TH Birding 20/21 Days: Uganda – The Pearl of Africa
Ennjoy the Pearl of Africa birding habitats of Mabamba Swamp, Mabira Forest, Jinja, Budongo, Murchison Falls, Kibale Forest, Queen Elizabeth, Bwindi, Ruhija and Lake Mburo.
Day 1 : Entebbe Airport Transfer
Meet at the Airport dinner and overnight in Entebbe at Entebbe Resort or Windsor Lake Victoria Hotel or Flight Motel. Bird around Entebbe in the evening.
Day 2: Mabamba Swamp birding day
After early breakfast drive to Mabamba Wetland – famous for shoebill and other avian species plus migratory birds. Dinner and overnight Sheraton/Serena/Africana hotel /Holiday Express Hotel in Kampala.
Day 3:Mabira Forest birding
Morning visit Mabira Forest birding in this natural forest and continue to Jinja. Dinner and overnight Jinja Nile Resort/Gately on the Nile or at Adrift camp.
Day 4: Lake Victoria birding Jinja to Masindi
Bird along Lake Victoria with lunch stop in Kampala and proceed to Masindi Hotel and overnight.
Day 5:Budongo Forest Birding
Bird in Kaniyo looking for Foxy Cisticola, Cliff charts Western Violet-backed Sunbird evening bird the main road for Ituri Batis, White-spotted Greenbull, Forest Robin, Narina Trogon Pabidi forest for lowland species. Overnight at Sambiya River Lodge or Red chili.
Day 6:Murchison Falls National Park Birding tour
Bird in Murchison falls, Shoebill stork, Mouse birds, Silver birds, Kingfishers, Warblers, Gonolek, Weaver birds, Bee-eaters etc.Say at Paraa safari Lodge/Sambia River Lodge/Nile safari camp/ Red chili camp
Day 7: Murchiso Falls
Bird in Murchison falls, Shoebill stork, Mouse birds, Silver birds, Kingfishers, Warblers, Gonolek, Weaver birds, Bee-eaters etc
Day 8 : Busingiro and Royal Mile birding
Set birding towards Lake Albert up to Busigiro, Royal Mile continue to Masindi for overnight.
Day 9 : Birding for Narina Trogon, Greenbull,Sunbirds
Budongo Forest for Cliff charts Western Violet-backed Sunbird evening bird the main road for Ituri Batis, White-spotted Greenbull, Forest Robin, Narina Trogon and overnight Masindi Hotel /Kolping.
Day 10:Masindi to Fort Portal / Kibale
Drive to Fort Portal birding en-route. Dinner and overnight at Ndali Lodge/Fort Motel/Toro Resort/Rwenzori View Guest.
Day 11: Kibale Forest
Kibale Forest Chimps and Bigodi Swamp birding proceed to Semuliki National park settle in at Semuliki Lodge.
Day 12: Semuliki and the night jars
Morning natural walk in Semuliki After lucnh drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park- Birders Haven. Stay at Mweya Safari Lodge/Jacana Safari lodge/Hostel
Day 13 : Queen Elizabeth Birding
Explore Kasenyi Track afternoon Kazinga Channel. Over 500 species have been listed here.
Day 14 :Maragambo forest to Bwindi
Explore Maramagambo forest, explore the bat caves the whole day and proceed to Bwindi. Stay at Gorilla Forest camp/Buhoma Homestead/Kitandara Camp/Buhoma Community bandas
Day 15 :Gorilla tracking/Birding
Gorilla tracking (optional at USD 500 per permit) or bird the whole day in Bwindi Forest National Park. Dinner and overnight.
Day 16: Ruhija and the Rift Valley Endemics
Bwindi/Ruhija: over 300 species have been listed. Albertine Rift Endemics, Explore River Munyaga, Mubwindi Swamp, Kitahurira loop.
Day 17: Looking for the Albertine Endemics Mubwindi Swamp
Bwindi/Ruhija: over 300 species have been listed. Albertine Rift Endemics, Explore River Munyaga, Mubwindi Swamp, Kitahurira loop.
Day 18:Bwindi Bunyonyi/ Mughahinga
Bwindi birding ad proceed to lake Bunyonyi dinne ar overnght at Acadia cottages/Overland camp bunyonyi.
Day 19: Lake Bunyonyi birding Zone
After Boat ride drive to Lake Mburo National Park. Diner and overnight Matana safari lodge/Rwonyo camp.
Day 20 :Lake Mburo National park
Morning game drive/nature walks while birding different suitable sites. After lunch proceed to Kampala OR Entebbe airport if your transfer falls here. Dinner and overnight.
Day 21: airport transfer

We use luxury, medium and low cost budget facilities depending on your choice and budget. However in few cases, upmarket facilities may not be available and medium facilities have been used where medium facilities are not available we have used low cost.
