13 Days Uganda Rwanda Safari

D1:

Airport Transfer

On arrival at Entebbe International Airport at will be met by Travel Hemispheres representative who doubles as your driver and guide, will drive you to Entebbe town/Kampala city hotels dinner and overnight at Metropole Hotel BD.

D2:

Kampala-Murchison Falls National Park

After breakfast drive to Murchison falls. Will divert to The Rhino Sanctuary at Ziwa Ranch for rhino viewing. After will drive to Masindi town , stop for lunch at Masindi town. After lunch proceed to Murchison falls. Visit the top of the falls an exciting point where millions of gallons of water squeeze in 6-7 meter gap with thunderous sound before falling down 40 meters forming placid river. Dinner and overnight at Paraa Safari Lodge/Sambiya River Lodge/Murchison Falls River Lodge /Red Chili FB : /Paraa lodge

D3:

Murchison Falls National Park

Early morning take game drive looking for wildlife. Murchison Falls is the largest national park in the country and harbors different flora and fauna. Your game drive in the morning with a local guide who will assist you to sight wild game in the northern bank of River Nile where concentrations of game are in common sight of elephants, giraffes, antelopes, lions leopards hyenas and many bird species are a common sight. After lunch in the afternoon go for a boat cruise on the famous River Nile up to the bottom of falls viewing variety of game that throng along banks of the river. Chances of sighting the shoe bill stork are many though not a guarantee and many more bird species continue up to the bottom of the falls where you will see animals like schools of hippos, crocodiles and many species of birds dinner and overnight. FB  Paraa lodge or at Murchison Falls River Lodge, Sambiya River lodge.

D4:

Murchison Falls – Fort Portal.

Morning after breakfast proceed to   Fort Portal /Kibale with packed lunch. Drive in one of the remotest parts of this country enjoying different forest environment and other savannah woodland vegetation plus communities along the road stop where you find local market to mix briefly with local people. Arrival will be a in the evening enjoy nice views of the mountains of the moon on clear days. Will settle in at Mountains of the Moon hotel or Fort Motel . Dinner and overnight. FB mountains of the Moon / or at Tinka  Farm Guest House or Toro Resort.

D5:

Chimpanzee tracking Kibale Park – Queen Elizabeth nationl Park.

Morning drive to Kibale national park famous for chimpanzee tracking Visit Bigodi and later proceed to Queen Elizabeth. After drive back to Fort Portal stopping for lunch and after continue to Queen Elizabeth national park. Drive along the foot of Mountain Rwenzori and on clear days enjoys its nice ice peaks that remain wonder on equator line. Dinner and overnight Simba safari Lodge Uganda lodges /lodges/simba or Mweya safari Lodge, Buffalo Safari Lodge .

D6:

Queen Elizabeth National Park

Early Breakfast in the morning, carryout game drive to catch-up with the early risers and predators returning to their hideouts. You are likely to meet grazing hippos, elephants, lions, spotted hyenas and leopards, bushbuck, waterbuck and stripped jackal, and of-course the several warthogs.

After lunch take boat cruise on Kazinga channel connecting lake George and Lake Edward viewing different game lion, elephant, buffalo and many more plus plenty of birdlife. Dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge. FB  Mweya lodge

D 7:

Queen Elizabeth –  Bwindi 

After breakfast you will drive Kyambura gorge to track chimpanzees . After picnic lunch, drive south wards to Ishasha . Will do an evening game drive and after proceed to Bwindi  and Overnight.

D 8 :

Gorilla Tracking  Bwindi

Morning after breakfast with packed lunch, you will be escorted to the starting point for briefing by your guide. You will be allocated guides to track gorillas with, and then will be off to begin your adventure. A briefing from your local guides and then it’s off! The time taken and the terrain varies (1- 8 hours) this depends on the movement of these gentle giants. The thrill of meeting face to face takes away the pain of some times long and arduous trek.  Each encounter is different and has its own rewards, but you are likely to enjoy the close view of adults feeding, grooming and resting as the youngsters frolic and swing from vines in delightfully playful manner.

You will need to carry long pants like jean type, sturdy shoes to help you hiking steep and slippery slopes, gloves, long sleeved shirts and blouses to protect your bodies from thorns and itching plants. You may not rule out raining on you and at least a rain coat is needed to protect your bodies and any equipment carried along with like cameras. Also carry insect repellants and sun cream.

Day 9 :

 Bwindi- Rwanda Parc National des Volcanos 

Morning after  breakfast will be driven to Rwanda  via Kabale the highlands once known as Switzerland of Africa and continue to Kisoro the border town and cross into Rwanda drive short distance to Mountain Gorilla View Lodge. Dinner and overnight FB, 3B hotels

 Day 10:

Gorilla tracking Park des Volcans
Day for gorilla tracking in Parc National des Volcans (PNV) located in the northern  part of Rwanda . volcanic mountain ranges of Muhavura where about over 300 mountain gorillas find their natural habitat.  Morning will be driven to park headquarters after briefing start off the adventure with trackers. There are 8 habituated gorilla families – Amahoro, “Group 13”, Sabinyo and Susa – etc each of the groups allows up to 8 people per day. You will track either family to be allocated.  Tracking gorillas may take 2- 8 hours depending on the movements of these primates. After tracking will be led back to park headquarters.  Dinner and overnight at Mountain Gorilla View Lodge , 3b hotels

D 11:

Rwanda – Ruhengeri – – Mburo

After breakfast will do village walk around and where possible visit the lake Burela for sight seeing and after cross back into Uganda. Drive to Lake Mburo national park famous for zebra viewing and other lots of game . Dinner and overnight at Mihingo lodge. Mihingo Lodge

D12:

Lake Mburo- Kampala – Jinja

After Breakfast take a game in this park that contains an entire lake. The attractive acacia-dotted Savannah is a home for huge Zebras and Buffaloes, which graze these peaceful acres .At the lake; there are Hippos and a wonderful diversity of birds. Because of the different habitats of the lakeshores and the broad Savannah, the variety seems endless. Catch a glimpse of water birds diving for fish, the Marabou stork, bee-eater and cheeky bronze-tailed starling as well as the majestic crowned crane , take boat ride on lake Mburo after  proceed to Masaka road to Kampala. Stopover on your way could be for Ankole grassland where long horned cattle are common sight. Continue northwards breaking at the Equator crossing. Continue to Kampala and proceed to Jinja where will overnight.

D 13

Day will be for Jinja or white water rafting

This day will be for visiting Jinja whole day for white water rafting – grade 5 rapids) Overnight will be Sheraton or Africana in Kampala o (then left on your own or transfer is also possible to the airport today.

(We can arrange your overnight in case your flight is for following day)

 Please note the safari cost will include:

  • all meals and accommodation
  • gorilla permits – Rwanda
  • full time safari driver/guides,
  • border crossing fees
  • all park entry fees, all game drives, boat/ launch trips,
  • all the applicable Government Taxes.
  • 4×4 wheel drive vehicle with gas
  • Airport transfers.
  • chimp permits 1 per person – Kyambura/Kalinzu Forest
  • Drinking bottled water

Excluded are:

  • Drinks, your bar bills, phone calls, personal insurance and any other services of a personal nature like souvenirs tips and laundry etc.
